My name is Chloe. I am currently working towards a Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of Arizona. Up to now I've been focusing on my coursework to gain a broader and deeper stock of mathematical knowledge. One of my favorite things about math is how even seemingly unrelated facts from different areas can be tied together. I am looking forward to starting graduate level research and plan to work with differential equations.
I first fell in love with math because it explains so much about how our world works. Math plays a role in everything, from something as powerful as hurricanes to something as everyday as baking a cake. It even follows me to my hobbies of dancing and horseback riding through their ties to music and physics, both of which have mathematical foundations. I hope to one day be in a position to use the mathematical skills I've learned to make a positive change in the world.
I tutored students both individually and in groups when working in the university's tutoring room while I was an undergraduate student. When I'm teaching someone I enjoy creating new activities and games to make learning math fun and relatable. Tutoring is a wonderful opportunity to see how individual students learn. I do my best to find different ways of explaining both basic and complex concepts to help them reach their full potential. I look forward to the unique challenge each student presents and the chance to learn alongside them while having fun with math!
